Here's a demo reel from when I was building levels using Source SDK, a level builder used by Valve.

 

Puzzle Elements, Strategic Cover, Pacing, Emotional Tempo, Aesthetics, Lighting, Save Point Placement, Previewing of Mechanics and Scripted Events are all elements considered in the construction of these single-player levels to create an immersive and enjoyable experience.
